Sorry for the loooooooong break. I had like 20 exams in 4 weeks so no time at all..
My sister moved out, I got her old room, and we put new wallpaper on. I absolutely love it!
I´m going to upload some pictures of a reaaaal Christmas over here :P We don´t have snow though :( I waited for it for ages, but we still have 10°C and just in this moment it´s raining, a New Zealand winter...
First: Germans celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, so on the 24th not on the 25th. We don´t invite friends over or anything like that, it´s just the family, maybe the grandparents, but that´s it. On the 25th we visit my cousins and my uncle and aunt and my grand parents :)
Most of the families have a biiiig festive dinner, with duck, some sort of fish or so. We are gonna have duck, with dumblings, potatoes, brussel sprouts and red cabbage. Definitely NOT my favourite but oh well can´t change it :D
My family puts up the christmas tree (a REAL one!!!!) on the morning of the 24th. My mum is a little bit crazy and special with her tree decorations... The fuller the better... This year my sister and I did the decorating, and my mum is happy as because the tree is more red than green :P And Sunny (my dog) is running around it and she is throwing all the christmas balls off the tree.
I also got my OWN tree in my room, since I missed my Christmas a lot in New Zealand.
We eat our dinner in our 'special' dining room, that´s also decorated. After that we open the presents. I´m so excited :DDDD
My whole village is decorated, lights are EVERYWHERE! Very nice since it gets dark at 4pm.. The market, where I work, has a huge Christmas tree, and around the weekly market there´s a Christmas market. You can get special candy and decorations and food there. I think it´s a German tradition because I have never seen it anywhere else.
Well, I hope you had awesome days and grabbed a good bargain on Boxing Day ;)
See ya soon! And love from your German :) xoxo
